Questions to prompt some thoughts about your Aviation Career
- What was your previous Career and why did you choose Aviation?
- What’s your educational background?
- Where did you go to school?
- How did your major in school shape your desire for aviation? Or not?
- What do you think Makes a Great Pilot, Flight Attendant, or (whatever role they’re in)
- What types of Planes are you licensed to operate?
- What type ratings do you hold, if any?
- How do you plan on providing meaning to your flying career over the long haul, after the “honeymoon” wears off?
- What motivates you to stay in the aviation INDUSTRY/in your career?
- If this applies to you, how DID YOU weather the stagnant periods in your career?
- If you get furloughed what is your Plan B?
- If the industry takes a downturn, how WILL YOU CONTINUE TO grow through those times and prosper?
- How DO You prepare, or plan to prepare, for upgrades, equipment changes, downsizing.
- Have you mentored others?
- If so, how was that experience for you?
- If not, would you like to mentor others and how do you think that will
increase your overall satisfaction? In your career and in your personal life?
- If you have been mentored, who were they and what was that experience like?
- Where are some of your favorite places to Travel?
- What were the high points in your career that you’d like to pass on to other professionals, your family, to prospective employers?
- How would you like to engage in promoting aviation to kids, to other people who you think might benefit from that?
- If you were to promote aviation to others, what would that look like?
- How do you think that would benefit you and how would it increase your career satisfaction, if you think it would?
