Thank you for your interest in my Aviation Writing and Copywriting services. Maybe you’ve asked for this information out of curiosity. Some folks do – especially those who never hired a freelance copywriter before.
But more likely, you need a good Writer or Copywriter – someone who combines writing skill and years of in-depth Global Life Experience with people “street smarts.”
Whatever your reason for calling or writing, you want to know more about me before we consider working together. If we were sitting face-to-face, chatting in your office or having coffee, you’d ask me questions.
I think you’ll appreciate that my success in other careers and my diverse background has helped me discover what motivates people to do what they do and buy what they buy.
Let me try to answer a few of your questions here.
My Copywriting and Writing Background
I have always loved using words to create excitement and adventure in people’s lives.
When I was a kid I would stand at the front room window of our home in San Francisco, watching the paper boy deliver the local newspapers, the Examiner and Chronicle.
As they passed by, I would yell out, “Paper, paper, getchya paper here!” From early on I had a desire to spread the good news to people.
I also learned how to read before I even got to kindergarten by daily devouring a few hundred ‘funny books.’ As a result of this in-depth “research” I learned the power of words and, in the process, won a few spelling bees.
Copywriting and Marketing, I’ve done website content, article content writing, newsletters, press releases, personal interviews, email campaigns, blog posts, podcasts for many Amazon private label product clients. These pieces had to be attractive enough to significantly distinguish my client’s products from thousands of other similar Amazon products.
Design, Creation, Copywriting and Marketing of my own Amazon private label product.

A graduate of the American Writers and Artists International direct response course (AWAI is the industry leader in Copywriter Training)
Studied and completed many AWAI courses: 2008 Copywriting Bootcamp, Jay White’s Email Copy Made Easy, Writing Case Studies and Nick Usbourne’s course on Web Copy 2.0.
I have a very creative mind that draws readers and clients into my stories in a way that entertains them while building their trust and fostering their cooperation.
Many of my articles have been, and currently are published in: InFlightUSA, Aviation International News, BizAvJets, Airline Pilot and many other Worldwide Aviation and Training magazines and publications.
I’m proud of a distinction of sorts that my articles have always been accepted and published on the first submission. I have never had a rejection.
One of my specialties is an offshot of my love of interviewing people: it’s my ability to weave compelling, personalized stories into my copy.
This writing style charges people emotionally and creates a bond around my material.
I was a guest columnist for the St. Louis Suburban Journal, and a regular columnist for the Sedona (AZ) Times. I was the editor for the TWA Tailwinds, the fun newsletter for my former airline.

How Does My Background in Aviation Benefit You?
I’ve got 35 Years of Aviation Experience as an Airline Pilot/Instructor, Author, Expert Witness, Professional Counselor, and Copywriter and Marketing Expert.
When you hire me as your Writer/Copywriter you get the same attention to detail, proficiency, follow through and impeccable results that I demonstrated in my 20000 hours as a Captain/Instructor for TWA and for Netjets (The world’s largest Corporate VIP airline)
As the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) and NetJets Professional Standards Committee Chairman, my job was to investigate and resolve personal disputes among flight crew members that impacted safety. This gave me a unique perspective into the kind of personal issues that are crucial to the success of a team in a large corporation.
My flying career has taken me to dozens of countries where I had the chance to observe and interact with people from many different cultures.
I spent a year flying for Saudi Arabian airlines as an instructor pilot on loan from TWA since Saudia had a management contract with TWA back in the day. I gained valuable, educational, once in a lifetime, cross cultural insights into a culture that, by its very nature, breaks any pre-conceived notions about people’s behavior.
This unique combination of my global exposure and passion for creating written excitement has given me insight into the many different ways that people think and act. This experience brings a subtle, compassionate, yet powerfully convincing edge to my writing.
Beyond the years of writing, creativity and skill that I bring to my craft, I also bring years of Personal Development Training to my work.
What Does My Personal Development Have to Do with Your Project?
You want a Writer with a vast, rich background of experience to draw on.
I have been a Licensed Psychotherapist, with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, a certified leader of men in the ManKind Project, a men’s group leader and community organizer, a personal lifestyle coach and much more.
A Need for Personal Connection:
This is probably one of the most valuable personal traits I bring to my work. Because of my desire and proven ability to help “heal the wounds that separate us” this will ensure that my work will enrich the lives of you and your clients.
Here’s a recent article about how I took my talent for “connection” into the community: Marin IJ Article
This aspect of my background translates directly into my assuring your company’s continued good will, more return customers, and increased profits for your business.
This ability is hugely important in today’s emotionally disconnected world.
What Do I Promise You?
It’s an over-used phrase but I’ll use it anyway because it’s true: “I under-promise and over-deliver!”
I will work hard for you and I will not quit until you are completely satisfied.
You must know that I only approach organizations and business’s that I can feel – and write – passionately about. You’ll be getting my very best.
“After all, if 200 people in the back of my airplane trusted me with their lives, I’m sure you can trust me with your business!”
